GAY BLACK MEN in Television and Film
no secret that black men are missing on the tapestry of LGBT media. Millennia Scope Entertainment Foundation was founded to help change. As the Foundation begins to advocate, support, and develop productions for television and film that include Black Men we’d like your feedback…
Too often we are cast in stereotypical roles: thugs, whores, street walkers etc. LOL. When black men act “Black” they are thugs when white boys act “black” they are kewl.
REMEDY? We pool our financial resources together. Each of us gives what we can no amount is too small so together we can afford to produce films that depict gay black men as valuable productive strong members of our communities NOT just gang members!!

Questions:
1. What Stories would you like to see?
2. How should Gay Black Male stars look?
3. What do you want to see now???
I long to see a series or series that will show beautiful black gay men in a light other than the ones that have been shown. Why is it that everytime a Black Gay character is introduced into a show he is always on the arm of a white man? It’s as if they almost say that the love between black men is not worthy of being shown or don’t exist.I have nothing against my effeminate brothers because they are part of our story too but it’s time that we move beyond being the friend to a female on the show or an over the Top real campy type.I am not rich by far and I don’t have much however if there was a campaign to bring these things to fruition then I would be willing to donate what I can to make it happen.
Anthony great point we at MSEF agrees with you 100%. The answer to producing more representative film that depicts gay black men as a strong and loving one another is for us to pool ur economic clout together and produce more film.
MSEF was created for just this purpose. There is a CAMPAIGN to bring our stories to the fruition. Most don’t have a lot of money a donation of $1 a month helps us get to our goal of $10,000/mo so that we can start producing positive images about us.
If you can get yourself and 10 of your friends to each commit to reoccurring monthly donation of $20/mo then they ask 10 of their friends to do the same then before you know it our campaign to produce black gay film that depicts our community as strong, powerful and self loving will come to fruition.

I like the idea of putting your money where your mouth is; and no amount is too small. I would be interested in know more about this venture; where to get info; how the monies are vested and are contributions tax deductible. All the best, KD
